My Political Affiliations -

Women’s Life in Pakistan and Powerful Women’s of Pakistan

Today I want to start my article with disagreeing with all of those people who always saying, “Pakistan has a tradition of degrading women’s” because I think over the years this trend has been changed totally. It has turned into a tradition of accepting her abilities, knowledge and skills which can be seen in the shape of their presence in decision making corridors.
Today I am going to share some prominent and powerful Pakistani Women’s who are playing leading role in Pakistani Society and Politics.

Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto
Who can forget First Women Prime Minister of Islamic World Benazir Bhutto she was elected twice as Prime Minister of Pakistan and she was the most powerful women of Pakistan without any competition. Although she was assassinated in a terrorist attack during a public rally in Rawalpindi but she left a legacy of a huge followers and people who admire her political career and recent PPP government was not able to rule Pakistan right now.

Mrs. Asma Jahangir
Former President of Supreme Court Bar and one of the Leading Layer and Human Right Activist in Pakistan’s History, Asma Jahangir is one of the most powerful women in power corridors of Pakistani Politics. She is also leading Civil Society’s different organizations.
Right now she is enjoying Media’s Lime Light with full gloom due to playing a key role as defender of Mr. Hussain Haqqani who is facing massive pressure due to Memo Scandal case and has been removed from his position of Ambassador to USA.
She was an active protestor during Dictator Gen. Parvez Musharraf and was detained several times in prison because of his human rights movements.

Mrs. Fahmida Mirza
Fahmida Mirza is Speaker of Pakistan National Assembly right now and we can imagine how powerful women she is right now who have to powers to silence any popular leader of the country. She is a regular General Elected Member of National Assembly.

Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar
Our famous and beautiful Foreign Minister and she always remain in the lime light due to his political and fashion moves but she is not only a charming lady but she is very dedicated and hard working also. She is one of the most active politicians in last decade and serves on several key posts. Young Pakistani girls admire her and look her as a role model not only to get success but learn fashion tips as well.

Ms. Kashmala Tariq
Kashmala Tariq is also a very beautiful and charming Political figure of Pakistan who has a very sharp and positive political mind. She is elected 2nd time Member of Parliament. She is very active on local public issues and always raises her voice in people of Pakistan support. She is right in opposition and we have to yet see her progress as Federal Minister.
I must admit, “Her beauty catches everyone towards her without any age restrictions. Some gossips were also circulated some times but still there is no evidence regarding these events which was attached with her.
She came in lime light when Parvez Musharraf was in power and he approved women empowerment bill. We have witnessed some beautiful faces after this bill in Parliament. I think she has very powerful and bright future in coming years.

Mrs. Sherry Rehman
Sherry Rehman is one of the all time seasonal political figure of Pakistan. She has served on several key posts during PPP’s all recent governments and right now she has the portfolio of Ambassador of Pakistan in United Stats.

Sherry Rehman is one of the key figures in our recent political history and has tremendous achievements in life.
There are plenty of other political women figures are in our National Assembly and I love to share about them as well, which I will share in my next episode.

IS IT DEMOCRATIC NORMS TO INTERFERE IN OTHERS INTERNAL MATTERS?

Today when I was hearing News on Geo Information TV one of the best Information Route in Pakistan I observed that, US representative were saying, “We are watching progress of Memo Case and we wish it will offer comfort to Mr. Haqqani and will not break his primary human being rights”.

Is it granted in the United States to determine Substantial Trial of USA regardless by the authorities’ officials?

Is this a Democratic behavior? Why they are trying to effect on Substantial Trial which is undergoing in Supreme Court of Pakistan? If Mr. Haqqani is not accountable than why, “This type of report came from US spokesperson? If we expect he is accountable than, “Who the terrible are they to provide their own judgment?”

I think this is nothing but, “Interfering in our Inner Matters” and this type of conduct always create us furious and an act of placing gas on fireplace. So are they trying to improve dislike against the United States in Pakistan? What type of sense is this? Are they so dumb? Are they blind? Are they unacquainted with ground facts in Pakistan?

I think they are shades, hard of hearing and most significant stupid on this whole world, why I am saying this hard statement?

Let me Describe my perspective which maybe incorrect but I think this is my essential human being right and as per UN charter its my Independence of Right to say, “Recently Native Indian parliament has handed down a debatable law in which they granted 3 years jail to the whole household who is increasing a cow in there home if law enforcement felled they are increasing her to satisfy their animal meat needs. Why these human being privileges winners are not dealing with this dark-colored law? But they are trying to effect on a situation which is on going in the Substantial Trial and look towards their idiotic strategy whom they are trying to protect, “He said, I completely believe in on a legal court Panel” so what is their problem? I am puzzled, “what is the sense behind this type of Advertising Briefing? What a rubbish act? Are they are actual speakers of US Nation? I think individuals of USA must think about this concern.

$400 per gallon - Price of NATO Attack

People of Pakistan and the whole world is witnessed about Imran Khan's statement about, "Fake War against Terror" and he always condemned it and never supported.

After loosing more than 35,000 innocent Pakistani civilians lives our so called democratic government has reached to this conclusion, "This is Not Our war" when they have listened news of, "NATO attack on Pakistani Border Security Check Post.

Now when Bone Conference has been failed to achieve what they were thinking because Pakistan did not attend the Conference and boycott the all process which is US led forces and NATO is doing in Afghanistan.

As per US media, "One Gallon of Petrol which reach to them in Afghanistan, they are paying $400 for it". So in this financial crunch when people of USA are loosing their Homes and Jobs, can they justify this criminal act? Why not they try to solve problems of their peoples instead of fighting an un-ended Fake war?

We being Pakistani did not defend our act of blockage but, "Is it fair to drop Bombs on us when we are helping them? When we are trying our best to facilitate them?

If the US and NATO allies want a honorable exit from this war than they must listened to us and stop killing innocent humans in the both side of Border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. They must pull their forces out of our region and focus on their own people’s problem. Why they are spending $400 on one gallon for a fake war, why not they spent these $400 on their peoples who give them, "Vote and Money" in the shape of taxes.

If USA and its NATO allies think they can run away from killing of our innocent people, than they living in the World of Fools. Let me clarify that, I am just talking about One gallon Petrol but there are plenty of other necessities which they use on daily basis and I did not counted all of them. So you can imagine how high price they are paying for this "Fake War".

Imran Khan is Going to Address a huge gathering in Karachi on 25th December, they day of our Founding Father Quide-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinah and also the day of "Jesus Christ" they day of Christmas and I am looking towards it and the way this coming event is building the momentum I wanted to share with you its one  picture. You must watch this video below to understand what I am saying:

Marvi Memon - New Emerging Voice of Pakistani People

During last election we have witness that so many new faces are coming in our political arena. Some of them are emerging on very fast track because of their boldness regarding the core issues which Pakistan is facing right now.

Marvi Memon is one of them and even I am not member or lover of his political party but I admit she is very brave, intelligent and trusted lady in political corridors. She is emerging as a voice of poor people of Pakistan who have no voice in the parliament before. She is the one and only female politician who supported Imran Khan’s sitting against US Drone attacks on Pakistani soil at Peshawar and came to attend the event with injured leg.

Right now she is sitting on opposition bench when her Political Party is part of the government because of her principal stand regarding corruption against on Pakistan Peoples Party government. Also she is demanding the details of Pak US deals on War against Terror. I never get a chance to met or see her live but I have seen her speeches and comments regarding on going issues in Pakistan on National Channels and I admit she inspired me. I wish people like her lead us towards our sovereignty and bring peace to our loving country. Ameen

We will march toward Islamabad says Imran Khan

Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan Sunday gave one month deadline to the government for halting the drone attacks and issued a warning that in case of failure the NATO supply line would be blocked and if the strikes still continued ‘we will march toward Islamabad’, Geo News reported.

Addressing a sit-in being staged against the US predator strikes under the auspices of TI here, Imran Khan exhorted the politicians to shake off ‘hypocrisy’ on the issue of drone attacks.

“The resolution passed against the drone strikes be implemented,” the TI Chief urged the government.

Imran Khan said a country whose elite class does not give tax can never make progress. “Only the poor are being made to suffer through inflation that is a result of rich being allowed to get away with not paying the tax,” he regretted.

He termed the Chief Justice of Pakistan as the brightest ray of hope for the country.

The TI Chief called for allowing media and human rights organizations to travel inside FATA and asked these organizations to put together an independent fact-finding report on drone attacks.

“Pakistan is brimming over with natural resources which if fully tapped will end our dependence on US aid,” he said, adding, the objective of Tehreek-e-Insaf was to build a strong Pakistan.

He said TI wanted a Pakistan whose passport was looked at with respect in every part of the world.

Imran Khan thanked Javed Hashmi, Marvi Memon, Akhundzada Chattan and other political leaders for attending the sit-in.

Imran announces litigation at international courts against drone attacks

Chairman, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf, Imran Khan, has announced to adopt a two-way strategy; public pressure within the country, and litigation at international courts of law, to end drone attacks in Pakistan that kill innocent civilians.

Our rulers have sold national sovereignty for the sake of American dollars; he alleged urging the people that it’s high time they take to the streets against this state-sponsored terrorism as the time to act has come. The consensus has been developed against drone attacks since the Raymond Davis issue, he added while addressing a joint press conference at Islamabad Press Club today along with Clive Smith of Reprieve, a charity that provides free legal aid to families of victims of drone attacks in collaboration with Justice Project of Pakistan, headed by renowned lawyer Mirza Shehzad Akbar.

Imran Khan said 90% of the people targeted in drone attacks are innocent civilians, quoting a local Malik from North Waziristan, Gulabat Khan; he said 18 out of every 20 victims of drone attacks are innocent. The bodies of the victims are usually beyond recognition and somehow the victims become suspects after they are dead. The alleged terrorists are innocent until proven guilty. He criticized the government for fixing the match of drone attacks with the US administration and failing to protect the life and property of Pakistani citizens. “Democracy is the best revenge, is a joke to the nation”, he added. He also invited all political parties to his proposed sit-in at Peshawar on 23rd and 24th April against drone attacks saying it’s a national cause and it’s our duty to rise up against naked foreign aggression and our government’s failure to prevent them.

Mr. Khan thanked Mr. Clive Smith of Reprieve and his team for trying to help the victim’s families. Speaking on the occasion, Clive Smith of Reprieve, said that they are meeting affected people and helping them with litigation in the US, UK, Pakistan, and International Courts. Gulabat Khan also spoke briefly saying the continuation of Musharraf policy is disastrous for the tribal people who have always made sacrifices of lives for the defense of Pakistan and liberation of Kashmir. Mr. Shehzad Akbar who recently filed a case against CIA Station Chief, Jonathan Banks on the charges of war crimes, was also present on the occasion, said the US, NATO and Allies can be charged for war crimes in international courts and that political will is needed to expose the War on Terror which has actually become the War of Terror. Haroon Shah (uncle of a detainee in Bagram) was also present on the occasion.

Balance of Power Restored

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly today unanimously approved the 18th Amendment Bill 2010, restoring the 1973 Constitution to its original form and tilting balance of power in favour of Parliament.

The 18th amendment was approved by 292 votes in favour and no votes against, among those present in the 342-member national assembly, announced Speaker Fahmida Mirza.

The bill now needs approval of the Senate to become law.

Members of parliament celebrated their approval of the 102-clause bill with a prolonged thumping of the desks in front of their seats in the chamber.

"It is a matter of celebration for all the democratic parties. Feelings of joy are visible in the house," said Mirza.

"This is a historic day for all of us," she said.

A joyous parliament received on Friday much-awaited proposals for landmark constitutional reforms that restored its lost power and a genuine parliamentary system after its repeated mutilation by military dictators.

Among the major changes emerged from the bill's approval are transfer of some existing presidential powers arbitrarily assumed by former president Pervez Musharraf to the prime minister. They include dissolution of the National Assembly and appointment of chiefs of armed forces' and provincial governors.

The changes include repeal - with some acceptable exceptions - of the Musharraf-era 17th Amendment that validated his decrees, abolition of a concurrent list of subjects to give more autonomy to the provinces, renaming the North West Frontier Province as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They also include removal of the bar on more two terms of a prime minister or chief minister.

Formation of Judicial Commission for appointment of judges and removal of former dictator Gen. Zia's name from the Constitution were among other amendments approved by the House.

Golden Jubilee Events - Pakistan’s Internal Dynamics

The speakers at a seminar here on Thursday said that Pakistan must act fervently against the use of violence and the phenomenon of religiosity, which ultimately harbours intolerant postures towards other people.

The seminar titled ‘Pakistan’s Internal Dynamics’ was second in a series of talks to celebrate Pakistan Day, organised by the NUST Business School. The purpose of this seminar was to rejuvenate the younger generation, about the ideology of Pakistan. Former information minister Javed Jabbar, ex-interior secretary Syed Kamal Shah were the guest speakers while Federal Minister for Science & Technology Azam Khan Swati was the chief guest.

Speaking on the occasion, Javed Jabbar, highlighted the state of healthcare, miss-governance, partisanship, inflation, law and order, extremism and disparities in education as the major sources of concern for Pakistan. . He said that there is a democratic disconnect between the masses and the government and that this gap needs to be plugged.

He said, “Pakistan, now, also has a robust judiciary, which should be able to provide much needed relief to the masses.” Syed Kamal Shah in his remarks said that the strength of any society essentially emanates from the internal dynamics of that society and that the internal strength of a society ultimately leads to its prominence on the global scene.

He said that the systemic challenge, which Pakistan faces today, is the outcome of the interplay between four factors. The challenges, he said, comprised of blowback from Pakistan’s protracted cold war engagement like drugs, guns and refugees, poor governance and postponed decisions, prolonged political instability, and a dangerous and a volatile neighbourhood.

He highlighted that extremism and terrorism are not synonymous and that addressing the two would need a totally different strategy. Talking about the major factors affecting internal security, he listed the political instability of 90s, poverty and illiteracy, lack of good governance, politicisation and consequent deprivation of law enforcement and judiciary and sectarianism, injustice and an uneven distribution of wealth, the economic meltdown, unemployment and the ethnic problems in Karachi and Baluchistan as the domestic factors.

On suggesting a way forward, Kamal Shah advised that capabilities must be improved and national capacities strengthened to pursue terrorists and prevent terrorist activities.

In his concluding remarks, Federal Minister Azam Swati said that absence of rule of law, political leadership and justice are the root-cause of Pakistan’s multi-dimensional problems that we face today. He said that his generation had disappointed the nation, as it had promoted corruption and nepotism in the country, but he said that he had all the hopes pinned to the younger generation because of their attitudes against corruption. Dr Ashfaque Hasan Khan, Director General and Dean of NUST Business School presented the welcome address.
